The game plan

How to play Flappy Chicken

A deliberate upward hand stroke gives the chicken a flap. Lower your hand between flaps to prepare the next one. Each gate you pass earns one point, and the course gets harder as you go. Hitting a gate or the edge ends the round; a clean flight lasts up to two minutes.

  1. Show one hand and make a deliberate upward stroke to flap.
  2. Lower your hand between flaps to get ready for the next upstroke.
  3. Pass gates for one point each. A collision or two minutes ends the round.

Before your next round

How do I make the chicken flap?

Start the camera, show one hand and move it deliberately upward. Lower your hand before the next upward stroke. Holding your hand high does not trigger repeated flaps.

How is my score counted?

Each gate you pass earns one point. Gates become more challenging as the round progresses. Your flight ends on a collision or after 120 seconds.

Can I play with clicks or Space?

Flappy Chicken uses webcam hand gestures for gameplay. You can use the Start and Retry buttons, but clicking or pressing Space does not flap.

Does my camera video leave my device?

No. Camera frames and hand landmarks are processed in your browser. If you choose to save a score, numerical gameplay inputs are sent for score validation; your camera images and landmarks are not. Read about camera privacy.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Playing, creating a game profile, and saving arcade scores are free. A modern browser is needed for the cartoon game. A webcam is required to play.
